Before it turns Green

Why is she so persistent?
She’s been at it for the last two turns
She should move on.
And this child on her hip —
I don’t even know if its a boy or a girl
— stares blankly at everything around
I’m not giving her a tenner
She has permanently scarred
my glass window
with the broken lines of her sticky palm
